Richmond, VA - The National Stone, Sand and Gravel Association (NSSGA) recently honored Luck Stone Corporation at its annual convention in Tampa, Fl. The company received the most prestigious award, the Pinnacle Award, in the Community Relations category for its extensive community relations program of five-plus years that encompassed the following areas: safety initiatives, community outreach, donations, government involvement, communications, education, media relations and plant appearance.
“We’re so honored and humbled to have received the Pinnacle award, which is attributed to the diligence of all our employees and their dedication to supporting their local communities,“ said Rich Wright, President of Luck Stone Corporation’s Construction Aggregates division. Luck Stone garnered the award specifically for its truck safety program.
NSSGA president and CEO Joy Wilson said, “The Community Relations Award entries highlight the outstanding outreach and stewardship activities NSSGA measures practice in their communities.“ Wilson added. “All of the award winners are shinning examples of positive results that come from opening their doors to community involvement and actively teaching their neighbors about the importance of aggregates in America’s daily life.“
Since its inception in 1989, NSSGA’s Community Relations Program has been recognizing aggregate producers whose community involvement and support activities have enhanced the public’s perception of the aggregates industry in general, and in particular the public image of the individual producer’s aggregate operation. The Program strives to positively shape the public perception of local crushed stone, sand and gravel operations and the aggregates industry by garnering positive media coverage.
