Luck Stone Corporation (LSC)’s Construction Aggregates Division, which encompasses 19 crushed stone, sand, and gravel sites in Virginia and North Carolina, opened the doors of its Massaponax and Spotsylvania plants to residents of Spotsylvania and Caroline Counties and nearby towns Saturday, June 3, from 11AM – 3PM. At this inaugural Spotsylvania County Open House, approximately 750 attendees including Mr. Emmitt B. Marshall from the Spotsylvania County Board of Supervisors of the Berkley District, families and children turned out for the fun-filled and informative event.
Luck Stone’s Open House was designed to a) showcase the Massaponax and Spotsylvania crushed stone operations b) create excitement for Luck Stone’s neighbors and associates and c) build relationships with community residents and key stakeholder groups in Massaponax, Spotsylvania and Caroline Counties.
Additionally, Luck Stone’s Open House event provided many of its neighbors and community members with the opportunity to tour the company’s Massaponax and Spotsylvania plants through guided tours that were conducted throughout the day. Event goers also had the opportunity to learn how to safely share the road with truck drivers through Luck Stone’s Truck Safety demonstrations. Families and children in attendance had fun and listened to live music while partaking in games that included a rock-climbing wall, a Giant Moonwalk, and a dunking tank to name a few. Lastly, guessing game participants were also given the chance to sign up for raffle prizes, which ranged from $50 gift certificates to local area stores, grills, a bicycle, and fishing poles.
