There are many tools in place at Luck Stone plants to help protect our environment. Some of the tools include:
High pressure water sprays for process dust control Oil/water separator for cleaning grease and oils from equipment. System includes a large concrete wash pad that provides a closed-loop water recycle system Secondary and tertiary screens are located inside a fully enclosed building to reduce noise and visible emissions At many plants, primary crushers and other equipment are located in pit area to reduce noise Use of a truck wet-down spray system to minimize dust An aggressive revegetation program on berns and other disturbed areas that includes annual application of fertilizer and reseeding as necessary to develop a lush and stable vegetative cover that significantly reduces erosion A non-hazardous parts-cleaning station For energy recovery, Luck Stone burns its own used oil in many of our plants Many electrical circuits, including equipment block heaters, are on computer automated times to minimize power consumption Workers are routinely trained on environmental, health and safety issues to keep them abreast of new and changing requirements
